TerraCube

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

The short version: we collect the email you sign in with and the property addresses you look up, we use them only to run TerraCube for you, we never sell your information, and you can email us at any time to see or delete what we hold.

TerraCube helps homeowners understand the climate and energy outlook of a property. To do that, we need a small amount of information about you and the properties you check. This page explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • Account information. When you create an account, we receive your email address and a sign-in identifier through Firebase Authentication (a Google service). You can sign in with an email and password or with a Google account.
  • Profile details you choose to add. On your profile page you can optionally add your name, company, job title, phone number, and country. These fields are entirely optional and are stored in Google Firestore.
  • Saved properties. When you save a property, we store its address, its map coordinates, the label you give it, and any building details you enter (such as floor area, number of floors, building type, or year built) in our product database, linked to your account.
  • Server logs. Like almost every website, our servers keep standard technical logs (such as the IP address, time, and page of each request) so we can keep the service running, spot problems, and protect it from abuse.

That is the full list. We do not use analytics trackers, advertising pixels, or social media tags, and we do not buy data about you from anyone.

How we use your information

  • To sign you in and keep your account secure.
  • To generate the climate, hazard, air-quality, and energy estimates you ask for, and to save the properties you want to come back to.
  • To operate, troubleshoot, and protect the service.
  • To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for advertising.

Address lookups use OpenStreetMap

When you type an address into TerraCube, we send that address text to Nominatim, the address-search service run by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, to turn it into map coordinates. Only the address you typed is sent — never your name, email, or account details. Nominatim's handling of these lookups is described in the OpenStreetMap Foundation privacy policy.

Who helps us process your data

A few carefully chosen providers help us run TerraCube. They process data only so the service can work:

  • Google (Firebase Authentication and Firestore) — handles sign-in and stores your optional profile details.
  • Our hosting provider — runs the servers and database where the service and your saved properties live.
  • OpenStreetMap Foundation (Nominatim) — receives the address text you type, as described above.

Shared report links

If you create a share link for a property report, anyone who has that link can view the report, including the property's address and its estimates. Only share links with people you trust to see that information.

Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. When you sign in, Firebase keeps your sign-in state in your browser's local storage so you stay logged in between visits. The app also sets one small cookie that remembers a layout preference (whether the sidebar is open or closed). That is all.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account, profile, and saved properties for as long as you have an account. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete this data. Routine server logs and backups are kept only for a limited time before they are overwritten or removed.

Your rights and choices

  • See your data. Email us and we will send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Fix your data. You can edit your profile details in the app at any time, or ask us to correct anything else.
  • Delete your data. Email us and we will delete your account, profile, and saved properties.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law. We honor access and deletion requests from everyone, wherever you are.

Children

TerraCube is made for people researching homes and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we will make the update easy to notice before it takes effect.
